OWNERS
	Shelley K. Doggett, Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) | Owner/President | Estes Office Manager Shelley has been with Insurance Associates of Estes since 1981 and in the insurance industry since 1980. She specializes in business insurance sales, management, company relationships and customer relationships. Shelley is a member of Professional Independent Insurance Agents. She says she is "very proud of our associates team. They are a great group of hardworking people." Outside of the office, she is currently president of Estes Park’s Sunrise Rotary Club; she was named Rotarian of the Year for 1991-1992. Her scheme of life includes community and world service. Shelley enjoys spending time with her husband Brad and two sons, knitting, distance running, skiing, bike riding and swimming. 	Charles F. Hix III | Owner/Vice President | Boulder Office Manager Charles has been in the insurance industry since 1986 and with Hix Insurance Associates since 1988. His specialties are working with commercial property and casualty coverages, companies in water-related fields (e.g., reservoir and irrigation) and non-profit organizations. He says he is particularly proud of the growth of the agency and of the staff. "I am thrilled to have a staff as great as ours; we’re always learning something new." Charles is a member of Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Boulder Valley Rotary. He was honored as Rotarian of the Year in 2004 and was president of the club in 2008. In Charles’ spare time, he enjoys University of Colorado Buff football, working on cars, snowboarding (and tuning ski and snowboard equipment), water sports, exercise and cycling. Charles’ favorite vacation spot is Chesapeake Bay "and anywhere there’s a beach or a BIG mountain for snowboarding."  Charles and his wife Margaret have two grown children, Lauren our daughter and our son, Aaron. 	Carie Audas Carie Audas started working in the insurance business in 2007.  She has been with Insurance Associates of Estes, Inc. for 1 year.  Carie says she is most proud of her ability to help others, and keeping the office organized.  Her future plan is to become an Insurance Agent.  When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Will and their three children, two of which are teenagers.  Carie enjoys camping, traveling and attending her children’s sporting events.  The family’s home protector is their American Cocker named Goofy who they adopted from the Larimer County Animal Shelter. 	Deborah L. Conway | Accounting/Human Resources manager Deborah has been with Insurance Associates of Estes since 2003. She says she is extremely proud to work for a company that is goal-oriented and follows through with its commitment to excellence. She enjoys travel all over the United States, fishing, camping and, especially, spending one-on-one time with her two-year-old granddaughter. She is also continuing her college education. 	Ann P. Dinsmoor | Commercial Lines Agent, Assistant to the President Ann has been working at Insurance Associates of Estes since 1998 and has 30 plus years in the business of insurance. Her specialty is commercial lines where she uses her well-developed computer skills. Ann is also a certified secondary mathematics teacher. She says she is particularly proud of her relationships with customers. Ann is a member of Estes Park’s Columbines, MVBF Church, PaCK (Parents and Community for Kids) and Wellesley College Alumna Club. She says she enjoys traveling "anywhere the wind takes me" and is looking forward to sailing across the Atlantic Ocean in 2007. She enjoys cooking, knitting, reading, sewing, playing bridge and sailing. Ann and her husband Jack will celebrate 50 years of marriage next year. 	Gary R. Grenzke | Commercial Insurance Sales Gary has been with Insurance Associates of Estes and Hix Insurance Associates since 2002 and in the insurance field since 2000. His specialties are public entities (water and fire districts), manufacturing, home builders and dude ranches. Gary says he particularly enjoys solving complex insurance problems for his clients. He is a board member of high-tech companies, and has been published in insurance industry journals. He holds an MBA from Wayne State University and has taught university courses. Gary belongs to Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary and is a Boy Scout leader. He plays baritone sax with jazz ensembles (he played for the TV movie "The Shining" filmed in Estes Park) and banjo and bass with folk groups. Outside of the office, Gary likes to hike and camp and climb mountains (he counts Mt. Kilimanjaro among his conquests).He enjoys sailing and has represented the United States in world competition. 	Lanette M. Land, Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) | Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative Lanette has been with Insurance of Associates of Estes since 1990. She is holder of the Personal Lines High Achiever award from The Travelers. Lanette says she is most proud of her organizational skills and work ethic. When she is out of the office, Lanette enjoys snowboarding, hiking, camping, riding motorcycles and dreaming of traveling where the palm trees dominate the landscape. 	Christina Long | System Administrator Christina has been with the agency since1986. She also manages systems for Hix Insurance Associates. She says her life with husband Alan and three young children leaves little time for any activities that don’t involve the family – or catching up on sleep! Her dream vacation is a trip to the beach. 	John Frances McManomon, Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC | Commercial Insurance Sales John has been with Insurance Associates of Estes since 2006, but he's been in the insurance business since 1978. His specialties include manufacturing, hospitality and restaurants but has many general business customers as well. He has reached or exceeded sales goals in 11 of the last 12 years and won several prestigious sales contests. He says he loves cold calling and has been ranked number one in cold calls and sales calls in his region for several years. He competes nationally and locally in racquetball and enjoys coaching, teaching kids and spending time with his family. John’s family consists of his wife, Lynn, four adult children, two teenagers, 9 grandchildren and three dogs: Sparky, Barclay and Toby. 	Teresa M. Mese Teresa has been in the insurance business since 1984. She has experience in personal and commercial lines insurance, as well as agency management. She comes to Estes from the Eastern Plains of Colorado where she worked with many farm clients. She especially enjoys working with people to evaluate their insurance needs. 	Bob Nelson | CLU, LUTCF Bob has been with the Agency since 1995 and specializes in Life, Disability, Health (both individual & group) and Long Term Care Insurance. Bob is married to Grace, an Interior Designer, and together they have two grown children. 	Jamie Reed, Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) | Personal Lines Agent Jamie has been with the agency since 1996. 	Terri A. Schwab, Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) | Personal Lines Producer/Sales Representative Terri works out of both the Boulder and Estes Park offices.  She has been with the company since 1995. She specializes in sales referrals, account sales and customer relations. For fun Terri says she loves to stay fit for family adventures in snowboarding and wakeboarding, camping, all kinds of cycling and horseback riding. Freckles the rat terrier also joins in family activities. The family also enjoys Pitter the cat and American Quarter Horses Clyde and Thunder. 	Nancy-Jo Tulley | Commercial Lines Agent Nancy has worked at Insurance Associates of Estes since 2003. She specializes in commercial lines, dude ranches and resorts. She says she thinks she excels in successful relationships with her customers. Her hobbies include crocheting, reading, candle-making and working to stay fit. She calls herself a "professional youth baseball mom" for two sons, who play competitively, and is also a hockey fan. Her favorite travels take her wherever her sons are playing baseball. 	Julie Phares | Commercial Account Sales Julie Phares started working in the Insurance business in 2000.  She works both in Commercial and Personal Lines.  She was the manager of local Insurance Agency for 8 years before she joined the Insurance Associates of Estes Park Team.   Julie specialty is in sales.  She has worked for over 20 years in the sales arena, and she feels she does an outstanding job working with her clients and making sure they get what they are asking for.  Julie is extremely active here in Estes Park.  She is a member of the Estes Park Noon Rotary Club where she served as President of the club in 2007.  She has served on numerous boards here in Estes Park which included the Estes Park Swim Club, Supports of the Performing Arts Center, Fine Arts Guild of the Rockies, and is currently Treasure for the Estes Valley Partners for Commerce.   She enjoys being a mother to four incredible children ranging from 28- 9 years old.  Last year she was blessed with her first grandchild.  Julie is married to Charles and they enjoy traveling and playing golf together.  They both have been very active in the theater productions here in the Estes Valley, and they are the founders of “ Estes Park Sings” a local fundraiser for the Rotary Scholarship program. 	Ray Leaycraft | Commercial Account Sales Ray started in the insurance industry in January of 2004, and believes that customer/client satisfaction comes first and foremost as well as developing a strong working relationship with the insured. Ray works with both personal lines and commercial lines clients. Ray was a police officer for 28 years (Garland, Texas and Estes Park) prior to changing careers and entering the insurance industry.   Ray is married, his wife Cindy works at the Estes Park Medical Center and for Barlow, Inc. Cindy is also the pianist at Hyde Chapel, YMCA of the Rockies.  Ray & Cindy have been married for 39 years and have one daughter, Sandy, son-in-law Rob and pride of their life, grandson Austin.  Ray enjoys golf and hiking as well as driving and working on his 1929 Model A Ford.  Ray is a member of the Rotary Club of Estes Park (President 2008/2009) and on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army of Estes Park. 	Deborah L. Barone, Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) | Account Manager Deborah has been in the insurance business for over 20 years and with Hix Insurance Associates since 2005. She specializes in business/commercial insurance. She says she considers herself fortunate to be working for a reputable agency and enjoys her success working with other agents and clients with different and changing needs. Deborah enjoys hiking with her family, making her way through the classic novels and "ALL" kinds of music. She likes to vacation in southern Maine and southern Florida. 	Sarajane R. Gomez | Commercial Account Manager Sarajane has been in the insurance industry since 1987 and with Hix Insurance Associates since 2005. She specializes in commercial insurance for small contractors and small business owners. She is also service representative for two salespeople in the company. Sarajane says, "I have issued policies covering everything from a small personal article floater to large fleets of aircraft." She, therefore, has a wide base of experience to provide quality service to the company’s clients. She says she enjoys working with a "wonderful group of people who have a deep commitment to service." She is an active member of the Boulder Chamber of Commerce Safety Committee. Sarajane is an herbalist, practices yoga and water aerobics. She enjoys her son, cooking Mexican dishes, art, painting, silk cloth dye work, drawing, beading, crafting and soap making. "Tulum, Mexico is my favorite place on earth," she says, and now she enjoys the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Wyoming. She is the eldest of the fifth generation of Colorado natives. 	Myriam Ogden | Receptionist, Hix Insurance Associates Myriam has been with the agency since spring of 2006. She is learning to assist with personal lines insurance and does some graphics and marketing for the company. She earned a bachelor degree in business administration and marketing from University of North Texas. Her hobby is Tennis (capital T). Myriam received the Arthur Ashe Award for Sportsmanship and Leadership, Division I. For the second year in a row, she has qualified for 5.0 level team national competition in Palm Springs, CA. She is a United States Professional Tennis Association P1 (highest level) teaching professional. She also enjoys fly fishing and running and is a fan of all professional sports. When she travels she likes to go wherever there is a beach; she is hopeful that the next big vacation will be to Australia. She is married to Brad. 	Karen Gillin Pickering, Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) | Commercial Lines Sales Representative Karen has been in the industry since 1999, and with Hix Insurance Associates since 2003. She specializes in professional liability, contractor and restaurant coverage. Karen loves to knit, especially for her family in the chilly Midwest. She is member of Colorado Tandem Club and enjoys bicycle riding, skiing, hiking, golfing and reading. Karen loves the Michigan lakes in summer and will travel "anyplace I haven’t been." 	Chris Skultety, Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) | Commercial Lines Producer Chris has over 30 years experience in the insurance business and has been with the agency since 2005. He specializes in lodging accounts, from RV parks to resort hotels. He says he especially appreciates his great relationships with clients and co-workers. He is treasurer of the Boulder Kiwanis Club and a board member of St. Vrain Manor (low-income elderly housing). When not at the office Chris enjoys hiking, working out, playing golf and working on landscaping projects. He also spends time on church and volunteer projects. 	Donna Switzer | Personal Lines Agent Donna has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years, she started with Hix Insurnace Associates in 2000. Her specialties include home, auto, motorcycle, mobile home, boat and umbrella policies. Donna has both a real estate and insurance agent license and has completed many classes in night school. She says she takes pride in providing the best customer service at all times and being cheerful with co-workers. Outside the office she enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending her grandson’s sporting events, shopping, reading, biking, bowling and trying new restaurants. Donna is a part of The Sister Study, a research effort into to genetic and environmental causes of breast cancer. Her favorite place to visit is "California, but I will go anywhere, anytime."
